December always seems to sneak up on us, doesn’t it? The lead-up to Christmas is always busy for us, with November and December full of hard work and anticipation. This year was no different. I’ll admit, there were a few sleepless nights wondering if we’d gotten everything just right. But during our first performance, I sat in the audience and watched the reactions. The smile and laughter, on the faces of children and adults said it all. In that moment, I knew we’d hit the sweet spot once again with a magical Christmas show.So as I look back at 2024 and remember what we achieved and think about what next year could bring I am reminded how important the role of our supporters are. Whether you attend shows, workshops, advocate for us or just click that share button on our social channels you all play a part in helping us spread the Vagabond joy and help us make a difference to people’s lives. Thank you for taking the time to be part of our community. So big hugs all round. Here’s wishing you a relaxing and joyful festive break.

In their show The Night Before The night before Christmas to male characters are hugging on stage. There are presents, bunting and a little chritsmas tree onstage.

The Night Before, The Night Before Christmas

We’ve had some wonderful reactions to our show in Buxton and Bakewell. Children are mesmerised by the storytelling, puppets and shadows. This might just be the perfect way to wrap up 2024. You can find us at The Brewhouse Arts Centre (lovely little venue) in Burton On Trent until Christmas Eve.

“We LOVED it! The kids were so enthralled and they both had so much to say about it. It was pure magic.”By the way, thanks to the Palace Hotel in Buxton, their old curtains make great coats!

Two actors are wearing pink and purple flambouant frock coats. One sits on the edge of the stage and the other is stood behind them trying to make their mouth lift into a smile

Mirror, Mirror – Bright Winter Nights

This was such a successful event. We were bowled over by the amount of interest and enthusiasm from the people who attended Bright Winter Nights at Bolsover Castle. We learnt alot from the premier of this digital installation and are confident that this new piece of work with  Illuminos has the potential to go to other Night Light events up and down the country. Drop me an email if you have a suggestion of where we could take this next.
