The days are getting longer and so is our list of exciting projects that we are involved in. I love it when the sun is shining and the skies are bright, it sparks more creativity and fires our imaginations.

The image is a close up of someones hands adding detail to an art project that fits inside a small cardboard box. On top of the box is a slogan saying "Reach For The Stars"

The Herds – Threads of Nature

We have set a date for some family workshops that have been supported by Art Fund and inspired by The Herds. So put Sunday 27th April in your diary. We have two sessions and places are free but you need to book tickets through  Silk Museum, Macclesfield. Patiently scroll through their what’s on guide to find the event. We will be making swift puppets to be part of an installation in the museum and we will learn about the effects the silk trade had on the migration of these beautiful birds.I’m also very exciited that our project has been among the few that are going to be highlighted as part of this project. Must be the cute little swift made out of a toilet roll tube that did it!

An artists has made a little bird from a cardboard tube and cloured it in to look like a swift.

Half Term Workshop – Cardboard Creations: Build, Shape, Imagine

We hosted a fun drop in workshop in the Easter Holidays where we turned cardboard into larger than life faces and wild and wacky characters. Participants ripped, cut, folded and decorated to create a one of a kind masterpiece.

A person is wearing their cardboard creation over their head. It has been made from a large cardboard box and looks like a funny bearded character with a yellow tie

Sideboard Revamp

The Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust were looking for a piece of furniture for their exhibition space. They really liked what we did with the dresser from Mirror, Mirror so they’ve asked us to transform a sideboard into something more exciting. I love an uprecycle and Mark’s a dab hand at thinking outside the box!

An antique sidboard has been given a make over. It has gold details and black edging and has holes cut in various places as it is a display cabinet
