Between 2003 and 2012, we deepened our creative voice and refined the way we devise original theatre. Working closely with rural schools and villages, we co-created educational projects and community arts events that placed local stories and people at the centre.

We continued touring small-scale shows to theatres, arts centres, festivals and community venues, but we were equally drawn to the road less travelled. Performing in non-traditional spaces brought new energy and possibility. Across Derbyshire’s beautiful and unexpected settings, we invited audiences to journey with us in the unfolding adventure. Through this site-specific work, we honed our craft, creating stories around natural backdrops and discovering how place itself can shape the story being told.
