My favourite Grimm Tale is “The Miser in the Bush”... no...“Hansel and Grethel”.... or maybe... it's “Iron Hans”...oh I don't know...there are too many to choose a favourite.

I grew up in the Peak District where I first performed in my local village pantomimes. I spent many happy years making shows with the prestigious Bakewell Youth Theatre, before heading off to college, then drama school to develop my craft. Along the way I directed a few shows in London, but the call of the hills and the cheaper rents brought me back to Derbyshire. Along with my friends we set up Babbling Vagabonds, a company that could take the paths less travelled, and where we could develop our own style of theatre.

My favourite of the Grimm stories are “King Thrushbeard”, “White Snake” and “The Golden Goose.”

I studied theatre design at Rose Bruford School of Speak and Drama, where I first met Tara and Phil. I love making things and solving problems. Sitting at the top of Roaches, or with my toes in the Clough Brook are why this is now my home.

Outdoor theatre in beautiful settings and puppetry are my favourite types of theatre, but I also love the intimacy and joy of performing in cosy rural venues or making up new stories with a rowdy bunch of cheeky rogues.

My favourite tales from the Grimm's are “The Elves and The Shoemaker”, “Rumplestiltskin”, and “The Wolf and the Seven Little Kids.”

I have a BA (Hons) in Scenery and Properties. I worked for a few years after finishing drama school in various prop departments in London before running to the hills of Derbyshire with Phil and Mark. I have never looked back. This glorious landscape and the communities that surround it forever provide creativity and inspiration. Not one to revel in the spotlight like Phil and Mark, I prefer the darker corners and happiest backstage or in the workshop.
