It’s been a busy month for us all and it’s not over yet! There’s been workshops in schools and at youth clubs, productions in woods, shows at festivals, and time spent in the workshop getting messy as we make and shape projects. So bring on the summer as we get ready to bring joy to everyone we meet.

Why Youth Theatre Matters

We are so proud of the kids in our REC Youth Theatre. They did a brilliant job performing their production, Tall Tales outside in the woods of Grin Low, especially as it was on one of the hottest days in Buxton. Luckily we had the leafy canopy of trees to help us stay cool. The other performances at the indoor venue of Buxton Community School went really well too.

Being part of our youth theatre gives young people so much more than performance skills. It helps them grow in confidence, boosts their creativity and gives them a chance to connect with like minded people. Year after year, we see them develop, not just on stage, but as individuals. And it’s not just us who notice, parents often share how much their children look forward to sessions and how the experience is boosting their self-esteem and social skills.

We’re welcoming new members this September, so if you know a young person who would thrive in a fun, supportive, and inspiring creative environment drop us a line or visit our website for more information. You can also email [email protected]

Post Office Of Possibilities

Our Post Office Of Possibilities is coming to life and it’s been shaped by the brilliant young people of Bolsolver. We’ve been chatting with them about their dreams and aspirations, and testing out some of the activities planned for this exciting new interactive experience. Expect just the right amount of silliness, with plenty of opportunities to spark conversations and spread joy.

Catch us at Chesterfield Children’s Festival at the end of this month and The Full Shebang in early September – and don’t forget to follow us on social media for all the latest updates!

A brightly coloured cart filled with various pieces of coloured furniture stands outside. There are mirrors, bunting and flowers decorating it.

Mark’s On A Mission

We’re chuffed to share that Mark was selected as a UK Creative Community Fellow with Derby Museums. He has just got back from 6 days away with the cohort where the week was designed to support leadership skills while boosting the ability to lead change. This brilliant programme brings together creative changemakers from across the country, and being part of it is a fantastic opportunity for us to grow, connect, and bring even more bold ideas back to our work with communities. Big things ahead!
